Indira P.P. Bora, a nationally acclaimed exponent of Bharata Natyam and Sattriya dance is a disciple of world-renowned exponent Late Rukmini Devi Arundale of Kalakshetra, Chennai (India). She has played a vital role in inscribing Sattriya dance in the cultural map of India for which she has been conferred prestigious Sangeet Natak Academy Award by the government of India in 1996. Over the last three decades she has been giving repeated exposures of this dance form along with her daughter and prominent dancer Menaka P.P. Bora and traditional gurus as a classical dance form of India in national and global platforms.
